CEARÁ
The whole State of Ceará opens up to the visitors' eyes with attractions for all tastes. The coast extends itself over 573km from Camocim to Icapuí. The scenery is framed by long dunes and cliffs that, at some points, form true sculptures created by the nature.
The coast offers a sequence lodging and feeding to receive your visitors. In Ceará the food is very good. The specialty is seafood, mainly shrimp and lobster. It doesn't matter where you are, fancy restautants, or at the tents by the beach, the portions are always generous.
TOURIST ROUTES
Complexo Turístico Beach Park
Only 25 Km from Fortaleza, Beach Park is the largest aquatic park of Latin America. Installed at the beach, with capacity to receive 5.000 people. Its biggest attraction - the INSANE – is the highest waterslide of the world, its 41 meters high, and you can reach up to 105km/h, in 5 seconds on your slide down.
Cumbuco
35 Km from Fortaleza, the beach of
Cumbuco is famous for its dunes and lakes (lagoa da banana), where you can do
buggy-trips with a lot of emotion and adrenaline. For Windsurfers the winds of
that beautifull beach are a must. As leisure options buggy-trips, jangadas
(sailing rafts) and windsurf are to your disposition. "Esquibunda" has become
some sort of official sport in Ceará. To do it, it's rally easy and fun: all you
have to do is to climb to the top of a steep and high dune, sit down on a plank
and slide it down to the base, which preferably, should end in a lagoon.
Morro Branco
At 85
Km from Fortaleza, known by ist cliffs of colored sands, you can find up to 12
different colors of sands, wich are used in the making of the nice sand bottles
and glasses. With ist irregular up and downs, Morro Branco, with its fishermen
village, is one of the prettiest beaches in Ceará.
Praia das Fontes
It's
easy to understand why Praia das Fontes, 87 kilometers far from Fortaleza, is
high quoted by tourists.Its long beach of quite flat sand washed by a calm and
green sea with an incredible number of sweet wather springs running down from
the red cliffs. For this reason, it is a perfect place for long walks, since
whenever you feel hot you can swim in the ocean or drink water from the fresh
water springs while enjoying the beautiful landscape - in some places, the
cliffs formd by erosion, remember those inhabited and mysterious planets from
the science fiction movie scenes. At the low tide it is possible to see a rocky
cave known as Mãe d'água. Praia das fontes has one of the best hotel structure.
Outstanding is the Hotel and Parque Praia dos Fontes, wich has an excellent
tourist infrastructure: swimming pools, aquatic park, restaurant self-service,
stores and other services.
Lagoinha
130 Km from
Fortaleza, calm sea and primitive beauty, that provides a moment of peacefulness
and rest for the visitors that are fascinated with the green of the coconut
trees, the orange of the dunes and the natural watersprings beside the nascent
sun. The nature was generous with this beach, its format of a half moon, with
dunes and coconut trees, and with great riffs. Praia da Lagoinha is one of those
places where you notice that God is in every detail. Lately it is turning one of
the beaches most published in reports. It possesses restaurants, pousadas,
camping and several leisure options, as buggy trips,jangada trips and trips on
top of a truck, with stop for a bath in the lake of the almécegas, located among
the dunes.
According to the legend, a treasure was hidden in this region by French pirates. Whether the treasure is really ther, we'll never know. However, everybody knows that Lagoinha's landscape is a treasure to be preserved.
